Spotify/last.fm back by popular demand
Friday, November 6th, 2009 | 2 Comments
Hi all!
I have fixed the spotify/last.fm-thingie.
It’s been a hectic few months in my life so all spare-time non-profit projects ended up on the bottom of the list, sorry!
The reasons for it to go down is more than just me not having time:
- Google appearantly changed the specification for the XML feeds I used to fetched data, causing the parser to break and stop adding updates.
- I moved hosting for my stuff to from Netherlands to Norway, and some backups got lost … (my fault)
Since Spotify has introduced a meta-api I will implement the possibility to filter albums by country, but it will probably take some time due to the large amount of album data the database holds.
Enjoy!
Another HDR experiment in Oslo

Here’s my second HDR experiment, and I have to say that I like it much more than my first since I feel I managed to capture the colours much better.

HDR experiments and a great Sunday

Ate breakfest consisting of a wonderful chicken salad at Grünerløkka in the morning, met up with some of my friends and spent a few hours working on something related to my day job.
Decided to walk home up to Løren, which takes more or less 30-45 minutes. Got inspired by the wonderful weather and decided to do my first HDR photo, resulting in this:
Canon 50D in the field: Too $hort + Loney, Dear
Saturday, April 4th, 2009 | 1 Comment
Tested the Canon 50D on two different concerts thursday and friday. Loney Dear on thursday was pretty good lit, but it was constant with no action. So it wasn’t hard to get decent pictures.
However, last night i spontaneously went with my collegue Håvard to BLÅ and Too $hort, which turned out to be a great event to test the performance. Took about 800 pictures, but in editing I only went through the first 100-200 because there was so many great results. The 6.5 fps burst mode tempted too much (probably won’t do that again).

Kleerup + Nils Bech at BLÅ in Oslo

Didn’t get so many good pictures that I usually do, mostly due to bad camera settings which I didn’t realize before it was way too late (AF-related) and that I lost both my eyelenses so I couldn’t see anything… You can find a few photos on flickr, but I’ll probably upload more this weekend when I have the time. Anywho, it was a really great concert and Nils Bech delievered way better than my expectations.
While on the subject, I’m going to take pictures of the band Kaiser Chiefs at Sentrum Scene tonight. Just been there once and that was as a spectator, so I’m really looking forward to it.
New album list from Spotify filtered by your taste
Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 | 19 Comments
Lists containing 18′000 albums isn’t really useful for much (well, it is, if you have the time). But to make life easier I created a simple service that matches your taste from last.fm against the album lists from Spotify.
Bugs and suggestions for improvements are as always accepted.

Another more or less spontanious shoot. Blå was packed, and the concert was sold out. Had a really great time, even though taking the pictures was hard (due to bad lighting mostly). You find the pictures on the flickr account.

Animal Collective – Merriweather Post Pavilion
Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 | No Comments
People that know me knows that music is a really big part of my life, and maybe they have noticed that I spend a lot of time exploring new music. One band I have discovered in the past couple of weeks is Animal Collective and more specific their latest album called “Merriweather Post Pavilion” (you can find it on Spotify).
At the first glance I didn’t like it. But when I start to listen, really listen, I love it. It’s noisy, but it’s beautiful noise. It also has melody and great lyrics. I rarely (read: never) get caught up in the lyrics and really listens to them, but with this album I really do.
To summarize some of the thoughts this albums gives me: I miss the summer and the sometimes unbearable, but good, heat. I miss places I’ve been. I miss the woods. I guess the latter is kind of fitting too.
This is close to perfection in my eyes, but it’s not – so I’m probably tired of it in a week or two.
